Seller Rules
Last updated: June 29, 2026
These rules give sellers a practical checklist for creating trustworthy listings and handling buyer expectations.
Seller Checklist
- Use real, current photos of the actual item whenever possible.
- Describe size, condition, known issues, pests, damage, age, compatibility, and included parts.
- Use the correct category and do not list prohibited or restricted items.
- Ship safely, provide tracking when available, and communicate promptly.
- Honor SaltyShelf's refund, dispute, and livestock DOA minimum rules.
Listing Standards
Listings should be specific enough for a buyer to understand what is being sold, what is included, what condition it is in, and how it will be shipped.
Minimum Seller Policy Template
If a seller posts their own policy, it should explain shipping days, weather holds, live arrival or DOA handling, claim windows, required photos, refund or replacement options, and communication expectations. Seller policies cannot reduce SaltyShelf's minimum buyer protections.
Admin Review
SaltyShelf may request changes, reject listings, remove listings, or limit seller access when listings or seller behavior do not meet these rules.
