Shipping Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Shipping is central to reef marketplace safety. These rules explain the minimum expectations for sellers and buyers.
Shipping Scope
During beta, SaltyShelf is shipping-only. Local pickup is not available. Sellers should clearly state shipping expectations, handling time, carrier preferences, and any livestock limits in the listing.
Tracking and Address Accuracy
Sellers should provide tracking when available. Buyers are responsible for entering the correct shipping address and being available for delivery, especially when an item is temperature-sensitive or alive.
Weather Holds
Sellers should delay shipping when weather, carrier delays, holidays, or delivery availability creates avoidable risk. Buyers and sellers should communicate before shipment when timing matters.
Seller-Caused Shipping Problems
If a seller ships late without communication, uses unsafe packaging, sends the wrong item, or ignores agreed shipping terms, the issue may be reviewed under the refund and dispute policy.
Livestock Shipping
Livestock and coral shipments need appropriate packing, temperature planning, and quick buyer inspection. DOA claims follow the Livestock DOA Policy.
